Rabbits have very tender and sensitive feet. Providing a comfortable solid floor for your rabbit to sit on is the best choice. If you are currently using a wire-grilled-bottom cage and cannot change your rabbit's living environment, cover the floor of the cage with the straw mats/platform so as to allow your bunny a place to rest his feet. These mats/platform provide protection and cushion for your bunnies' feet, which in turn helps prevent sore hocks (pododermatitis) which is very difficult to heal in rabbits.
