For The Young n Growing

A baby bunny at 8 weeks (after it has weaned from its mummy's milk) can be given unlimited pellets (preferably alfalfa-based) and alfalfa hay to give it the required energy (plenty of protein and calcium) for its growing needs. Unlimited pellets and alfalfa hay can be given up till bunny is 6 months old.
After 6 months of age, slowly switch pellets to timothy-based type and also start to slowly introduce suitable vegetables (discontinue if there are soft stools though). Also slowly switch alfalfa hay to timothy hay.
Here at The Busy Barn, we only sell plain pellets with the right nutritional components. They are a healthier choice compared to mixed pellets (pellets that include seeds, nuts, corn or dried fruits). Mixed pellets are unnecessarily high in sugars and fats and bunnies tend to choose and pick out the sweet nuts and fruits, ignoring the remaining "unappealing" plain pellets.
